Keeping your data safe
Introduction
The Biology Tutor promotes Biology education by organising revision workshops, extension classes and tuition for GCSE and A level students. It is referred to as ‘The Biology Tutor’, ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ in this notice. The purpose of this notice is to help you understand how and why we collect your personal information and what we do with that information.

We will ask your permission if we wish to keep your information for longer than this; for example, to contact you to return as a mentor for future cohorts of students, or to use photos or videos of you for marketing materials.
Photographs and video
Sometimes we take photos and video of sessions and you may be in some of these. We do this so that the pictures can go on our Facebook page, twitter feed or some other social media platform. We sometimes take pictures to produce marketing materials, to help us spread the word about The Biology Tutor to other students, parents and teachers. You can say when you sign up for any service if you do not want your picture to be used.
If we want to use a photo with you in it for a special purpose, we need to ask you for your permission. This is called ‘your consent’. The special purposes are when we would like to:
